I'm having a silent auction, and my question is: Should I advertise the items that people will be bidding on? - Jackie - 06-03-2014 11:52 AM

I wonder if posting pictures of the items will help get people excited and peak their interest...
Or would posting pictures make the turn out not as great, because people already know what will be there? Any tips?

I suggest advertising ONLY 3 to 5 items (or less if there's less stuff). Silent auctions can be tough; so you'll want to pique curiosity and lots of interest. Make sure you save the best items as a surprise. You could make posters with a compelling slogan such as "These wonderful _____ could be yours if the price is right! But wait - there's more! Come visit us on XXX to find out."
