You need a lot of traffic to make advertising worthwhile, cluttering a site with ads will lose you some readers, raising your Bounce Rate and can damage search ranking of a new site. Some sites earn an average of 1 cent per visitor with ad space. It might be wise to defer carrying ads until you are getting at least hundreds of visitor a week.
