A good SEO company for a small business is one that charges purely on performance. In other words they charge only when they get your phone to ring with qualified customers. You see just about any good SEO company and get you ranked page one above the fold... but that is just 1/2 the battle.. the other side ... the MOST important side is then getting potential customers to A.) click on your website B.) Take action by calling your business phone. For example, the average worth of a customer for a local painter is approximately $1,500 (can be Much more depending of many factors). A good SEO company would charge zero upfront.. build websites.. shoot video for you... get you on google local maps... etc... then when your phone rings with qualified customers you then pay an agreed amount say.. $150 dollars. You get 15 calls per month with an average closing ration of 75% (these are targeted callers.. so the closing ratio should be higher) could really change someones business. However, most (if not all) SEO companies will build you a fancy site.. get you page one .... but your phone does not ring... you are out $$$.
