Never trust Craigslist some dumb ass tried to scam me on their and they got jail time for it

Craiglists is not the safest thing in the world... because you meet up with complete stranger. Who could be a rapists, serial killer etc... who knows. But if you do try it make sure you go with somebody when you meet you up.... maybe 2 or 3 just in case( preferably men) because you don't know what will happen

It's not as safe as Ebay where buyers and sellers have transaction histories of sorts. Craigslist is modeled after newspaper classified ads except that it is accessible for free by people around the world, there are Nigerian scam artists offering you to overpay for an item for sale, if you return a portion of the cash, they really don't care about what you are selling just trying to get you to deposit a bad check.

Best to only do face to face business with locals.

As part of their battle with professional ad posters abusing the system, they have a detailed list of $ penalties for violations you agree to pay when you sign up,
