Google chrome is the only web browser made by google. You may be confusing it with the site google. The site google.com is a search engine that you use to search the web. Google chrome is a web browser in which you can check e-mail, go to yahoo! answers or play internet games (like safari, firefox, or internet explorer).

What do you mean by "reg google browser" Chrome is google's only browser, whether you should get it or not is your choice. It is fast, taking little RAM, and has a cool interface, but it supports no 3rd person addons.
