Shouldn't truly religious people accept atheists the way that they are? - Amanda - 11-09-2012 08:24 AM

I don't like to call myself and athesit because of the negative stigma that surrounds the term but when it comes down to brass tax and we have to label it, I guess that's what I am. I am Facebook friends with a man from work who constantly rips on atheism, quoting scripture, making ignorant jokes.and comments, and it really makes me angry. If he's a devout catholic or christian isn't he really supposed to at least tolerate other views instead if attacking them?

It would be very religious of them to do so.

That would make Jesus intolerant if I read you correctly. You and he supposedly both seek the truth and so your complaint should or must be about the method of doing that.

I don't hate you but I have no respect for an atheism that says it is based on reason and will not supply that reason. I find a lot of atheists (and I was one) just take the view : I have no sin, I can't go to Hell, and I would be doing God a favor if He would force my attention and convince me.

He is a very poor example of a follower of Christ if he truly is one at all. Please don't ever think Jesus acted this way towards unbelievers because he never did.

I accept people, but don't condone what they do sometimes. He is suppose to be cordial and human with others, but not enable others into committing sin. People do this by supporting sin.

Amen to that! (wow did I just say that?)

Typically "SHOULDN'T" questions are loaded questions.

You SHOULD know better.
