Why the big difference between Yahoo and Google link? - Penny G - 06-09-2014 12:34 AM

Lots of links to my site show on Yahoo but only 3 on Google.

Yahoo results: http://uk.search.yahoo.com/siteexplorer/search?p=http%3A%2F%2Fpennygraphics.net&bwm=i&bwms=p&bwmf=u&fr2=seo-rd-se

Google results: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=link%3Apennygraphics.net&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

Google shows exact results, yahoo shows related results too.

Google and Yahoo RANK sites differently. Your ranking is reflected in searches.

Hi

the reason which no body can be sure of but is most widely accepted is that Google and Yahoo both knows all the links(by knows i mean both have records in their storage) but Google shows only those links which it considers as the one which are affecting your ranking , i mean which are counted by google in their algo for search ranking. But yahoo displays all of them whether they are considered or not..

Whether a link is going to affect your ranking or not depends on lots of factors which Google had its paper released sometime back. These factors can be how long that link is related to your site, whether its two way link or one wayand so on......
