Quick question about Skype, need quick answer? - Joe P - 06-10-2014 06:36 AM

HI, thanks for looking.

My question is that, the Skype App on Android Says free IM and video calls... But I can not work out how it is free? I have never used it before, so stop laughing at me Tongue

Also, my intention is to make a video call from my Xbox One to my friends Android phone, for free? Is this possible?

I swear it looks like I have to add these Skype credits??

Thanks a lot Smile

Skype is free-ish some functions require cash. Locally however calling is free, long distance, not so much. Its still incredibly cheap.

Cheers and Good Luck

If you both have Skype, it is free, as the call will go over the internet rather than the phone network. That's assuming the Android owner has unlimited data, or is using wi-fi.

If the phone owner doesn't have Skype, or doesn't have data, you'll need to call the phone number, and doing that from Skype requires credits.

If the other person has Skype it's free. I often talk to a friend of mine who lives in Thailand from my laptop here in England on Skype and it's free.
