Privacy Settings when Tagging photos of friends on Facebook - Help? - Mollytoes - 06-11-2014 08:28 PM

I have already read many other similar questions about this issue, however I haven't been able to find any answers that will resolve the matter! I will try to explain it as simply as possible....

Basically, when I tag photos of a friend of mine on facebook, is there any way for their friends (people who I am not friends with) to only see the photos that I have tagged of our "mutual friend" and not my entire album? My current privacy setting on my album is "Friends only"...therefore the person i am tagging, their friends cannot see any of these photos.

I am certain there is a setting that allows for "Friends of friends" to see the photos you tag your friend in but not your whole album, as I have seen this is the case on some of my friends profiles. When I click on one of my friends tagged photos...I can click through their tagged pictures (which have been posted by someone else whom I am not friends with on facebook) and for some reason I am able to see all their pictures of our mutual friend but I cannot click on the album. The album name which comes up in the bottom right hand corner beneath the pitcutre, is not highlighted in blue making it possible to click on it. Instead it is just grey and when you run the cursor over it you cannot click on it.

I think this is a very good privacy setting and want to use it on my account for my own albums, because then photos of my friends can be seen by their other friends (who I am not friends with) but at the same time they cannot view my whole album which may include other pictures I don't want Everyone to see!

It is not the end of the world if i can't find out how to function this privacy setting, as I will just keep my album settings to "Friends Only"... it is just a shame though because I know it MUST be possible, and as I explained I have seen it on other people's profiles!

I hope that someone can help and I hope I have been clear in my question Smile

Thanks, Molly

I'm doing just a guessing here.. There is a privacy option for the posts on your wall,, if you post a photo there and chose that Friends of Friends are able to see it, maybe they will see only the photo and not the album that you may have put it in... i can't think of anything else possible

Hi, I was trying to figure this out as well, but it's simple actually. Just go to your privacy settings, click Friends Only at the left column, and there will be this box that you can tick that says "Let friends of people tagged in my photos and posts see them."
