My Internet Connection is so slow? - 171 - 06-12-2014 01:39 PM
Ever since i upgraded my laptop to service pack 3 two weeks ago, it has become so slow! Not just the internet, but opening documents as well. Even starting my laptop is a hassle, the windows xp screen at the start displays for 5 minuites loading until i can log into my account, when before my update it took only ten seconds. The laptop I am using is a dell latitude d410.
Also, and this is a massive problem for me, I cannot view any youtube video without it saying "an error occured, please try again later", I know this is a problem caused by insufficent internet connection, but how do I make my internet connection better?
Also if you want to know, my modem is downstairs, and even when I move my laptop closer to it, it hardly makes a difference.

it doesnt have anything to do with your internet connection. It's the Operating System that is messed up. Out of curiosity, why are you just now upgrading to service pack 3? its been out for years.
You can try to go to restore point and restore it back to an earlier point in time.
or reinstall the OS, first you would need to back up the data you want to keep.
Does your pc have a recovery partition? or do you have the reinstallation discs that came with your computer?
