Facebook is being hacked? ? - Rachel - 06-14-2014 08:48 AM

My cousins Facebook is being hacked. It's currently still being hacked. The hacker is sending dirty messages and deleting friends. What should we do? Thanks Smile

Notify Facebook about it, tell everyone that your cousin's account is being hacked, then delete it, and create a new account.

OMG! That's horrible! D:

Don't worry, your long and helpful answer is here to cover for those short and unhelpful ones. Smile

Plan X, have your cousin try to log into his/her account. Hopefully, if the hacker hasn't changed the password, already, your cousin should be able to log on. If, he/she was able to log on, he/she needs to immediately change her password. If he/she doesn't know how to change her password, here you go.

How to change your password (Secret Plan A is no longer a secret and is now in the open for usage):

1.At the top blue bar, where it says 'Your name', Find Friends, and Home, click the arrow drop-down menu.
2.Click Account Settings.
3.To the right of Password, click Edit in blue.
4.Fill in his/her current password and new password once. *Make sure that the new password is nothing like the current one.*
5.Click 'Save Changes'.

If your cousin can't log on, try this:

How to change your password (Secret Plan B which is not much of a secret now):

1.Go to: http://www.facebook.com/
2.Under the Password log, click Forgot your Password?
3.Enter your email and you'll be sent a verification e-mail.
4.Go to your email and click on the e-mail and click the verification link.
5.Your cousin be sent to a page to change his/her password.

Plan Y, your cousin will have to report the hacking to Facebook developers, or someone of the sort, so that they can shut down the account for the time being.

Contact them here: https://www.facebook.com/help/

Reporting/Securing your account:

1.Click 'Report Abuse or Policy Violations'.
2.Click 'My Account' under Secure a Hacked Account.
3.Click 'My account is hacked.'

Hope I helped! For more information, and Additional Details and I'll try to reply as soon as I can.

Good luck and best of wishes to you and your cousin.
