Do you have to use Google AdWords to get your site appearing in the top 10 or even top 20 hits ? - MR ANFIELD ACES - 06-16-2014 09:26 AM

i ask beacuse in the past - few yeras ago, when io made sites - i didnt use google adwords yet i saw my site appear #8 ranking, top 10.

i did use a company flagship product to build the site at the time though - and so im thinking it may have incporated some meta data or w/e you call it, to allow the pages to be found.

question is this - can i bypass google adwords altogether (meaning not use them) and just use some other means to make my pages/site easier to find on the web ??

i just need it to be found on teh web thats all.

advice ?

No Google Adwords is for paid ads that appear at the top and right of the search results. those "rankings" you talk of are from organic search results and they get their positions from merit alone. Whether you run paid ads or not does not bear any relation to your ad position.

yes you can bypass adwords if you are on the first page. But double check and use Chrome as a browser and hold ctrl shift and N it will open a incognito browse and be a true test
