Is it appropriate to ask out my tutor? - Josh - 06-16-2014 01:14 PM

I'm a freshman in college and unfortunately I need a tutor for my Spanish class. A fellow advertised tutoring on Facebook and she's really attractive. The only problem is she charges $30 an hour. That is a little too pricey for me. While I could use a little help in Spanish, she is really cute and I'd be interested in possibly asking her out. Is this frowned upon? Also, is a one hour session long enough to get to know her a bit before I do? I'd really prefer not to spend more than $30 to get possibly rejected. Any tips would be welcome. Thank you.

You should keep business and pleasure separate.

I don't think she would appreciate it if you 'hired' her for the sole purpose to get to know her and ask her out. She would definitely reject you for it.

I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too. You either have her as your tutor or you try the old fashioned way of getting to know her in the usual manner. Try talking to her - and not about Spanish - to see her reaction.
