Is there any way you can legally watch tv online and subscribe to only one channel without having to pay for any more.

Yes, google primewire. If you are talking about TV that isn't live.
However, some may consider the site to be doggy or a tad on the illegal side. Truth be told in my country "Canada" it's technically legal since I'm not sharing or downloading any of the content but simply watching it from a source. The same goes for most other countries as well.
