What is a good way to find good wholesale sites? - lady - 06-17-2014 09:18 AM

Around a year from now I want to start reselling whole sale products online. I'd like to start off small, so I'd like to buy wallets, hair accessories, and little girly stuff and resale them on a place like eBay just to get an idea of doing business. I plan to eventually own my own clothing store. I'm going to school for fashion merchandising. I'm currently 18 years old

What are some good ways to find good wholesale companies that will give me a good price?

You can find what you are looking for here.

To reduce the chances of getting ripped off, one can use a rather expensive membership site's Certified Wholesale Supplier database at WorldWideBrands.com, they also have some decent free booklets for ebay sellers worth getting. Saleshoo.com is a New Zealand based? kinda clone site.

You should also check if you are near any inventory liquidation outlets where you buy pallet loads of old styles, customer return, etc. dumped by large chain stores.

Those in NY and LA can buy direct from their fashion districts, a business license is essential to get wholesale rates.

Contact the various manufacturers directly and ask for a list of their authorized distributors/wholesalers.
