i thought there was identity problems with Facebook and everytime i see a tv show they want people to LIke them and receive rewards.

Facebook is poised to be the first TRILLION dollar company in History. Kinda freaky. And true. Anyway, they do this because presumably it would be easier to sign in with facebook(which you probably already have) than sign up to a new service. It's for convenience. Better be nice fo Facebook, they'll rule the world soon. That, or the Chinese.
