Does Google chrome affect the quality of a picture? - uchka - 06-19-2014 01:34 AM

so you guys obviously do know that by using Google chrome you can download a picture from the internet by dragging it to your desktop right? i was just wondering about when i drag a picture from Facebook or from Google images etc, would the quality of the picture be affected?
what i usually do to get pictures from my phone to my laptop is that i upload the picture to Facebook and drag it to my desktop my using Google chrome, but for some reason i think that when i do this, the quality of my picture gets worse. Would it be better if i send the photo to my email and download it rather than uploading it to Facebook and dragging it? does it make a difference?

As long as you drag the full sized photo, it won't be affected.

No, google chrome is not the issue. Facebook is likely set up to compress those big photos so that it doesn't take ages for it to load on their site. It's not a good way to transfer, as you'll lose quality. If you connect your phone to your computer with a cable you should be able to drag and drop the files. Dropbox with camera upload turned on is what I use.

Nope, definitely not.
