If I bid a certain price and have another max price, can I increase the max price before the closing of the item, or am I stuck with the original maximum price I put?

Best to find something YOU want and WAIT till time is almost up and make a bid BUT not the most you'd pay for the item then IF someone has beaten your bid you can go back and increase it. I don't believe that there is a limit ... only time.

There is no limit on how many bids you can place. You bid until the listing has ended.
