I have an iPod touch and I really like the features of it but I'd really like to have an iPhone because id like to call people and, the camera Is a whole lot better and I mainly post pictures on Instagram. I don't have enough money to pay for a data plan each month because I'm only 14 and I can't get a job and my parents won't pay extra money each month. I was wondering If I could get an iPhone but just use it for calling and texting but not use the data and 4g. Also can I use apps like Instagram over wi-fi and would I have to get an unlocked phone . I have Verizon as my service provider and would I have to use a sims card.

Nope. Data plan is mandatory.

Verizon is a CDMA network which does not use SIM cards.
