When I like my own post from the past. Does that post re-pop up in the news feed for my friends to see?

Yes. A lot of my friends use it so people can see an old pic they really like

It doesn't always show up at the top of the newsfeed, but it will show up in notifications. I guess it all depends on the amount of traffic on their newsfeeds.

Yes it does. It's kind of annoying that facebook re-post a picture on the top of your feed every time someone likes or commented on the picture.

Yes, if your setting for notifications to others is active then your friends would know when you like or posts etc.
