is it possible to hafve 20mpbs(megabytes) download speed? What is the average download speed in USA? - Ram - 06-20-2014 12:40 AM - Sekhar - 06-20-2014 12:50 AM 8mbps - Hu - 06-20-2014 12:57 AM In Europe yes its possible. In USA average is about 5 Megabytes. The highest in my area is 7 Megabytes. You can get 20mbps easily that's only about 2.5 megabytes(MBps) Google fiber is only available in 3 cities in the USA as of right now. - jerm1027 - 06-20-2014 01:10 AM To clear things up, there is a difference between Mbps and MB/s. Mbps stands for Megabits (not bytes) per second. MB/s stands for Megabytes per second. There are 8 bits in a byte. Network/internet speed is measured in bits. You can convert one to the other by multiplying/dividing by 8. So 20mbps is actually 2.5MB/s. It's possible to get 20Mbps; in fact, the average connection speed in the US is 20.57Mbps. My phone gets anywhere between 15-25Mbps on 4G LTE. Most ISP's offer speeds faster than 20Mbps, but at hefty premiums. Google Fiber offers Gigabit speeds (1 Gbps = 125MB/s) for $70, while Comcast will offer a 25Mbps connection for $30/mo, but will go up to $43-$65 after 12mo promo period, depending on area.. - Jayson Bennett - 06-20-2014 01:20 AM Yes here in California where I live you can getatt uverse with speeds of 24mbps for $66 a month... And as for the average speed is probably 6-10mbps.... I get 6mbps with att |
