Please help me select a topic for my blog? - jithin - 06-20-2014 06:31 AM

Should I write about technology(I'm interested in tech) and it seems like tech blogs get more hits or should I write about "Facts that blows your mind",you know facts like "Colossal Squid has the biggest eyes" and so on or about cars and their specs?Like Skoda Octavia,Blah blah bhp and so on...

I'm totally confused about what topic should I select.I'm interested in technology, cars, bikes.

Help me with a theme friends

My suggestion would be that you right about all of them. It may seem crazy, but you want people to come to you for education, fun, and be interested in what you have to say.

choose the one topic that you are interested the most about and where you think you can write a lot about it...if you have fun with the topic it's much easier to write about.... start with one topic first, have some posts in your blog and then you might think about the next topic...
depends on if you also want to monetize your blog, then I wouls spend much more time on your first topic and do some keyword research, check about some affiliate offers you could promote and so on....
and finally you need to drive traffic to your blog.

Here are some ideas for getting traffic:

- PPC (like google adwords)
- Video Marketing (especially via YouTube)
- here at Yahoo! Answers
- do SEO
- submit articles
- Squidoo and Hubpages
- Forum and Blog commenting
- Craigslist
- email marketing
- Ad Swaps / Solo Ads

Realize that whatever you write about, it will be competing with what's out there. Can you do better than the tech blogs that already exist? Maybe you can blog about a special niche within tech.

The answerer who suggested multiple blogs is right - you don't know which topic will work best for you, so try them all.
