Because 1) original ideas are rare, so most people copy, 2) everyone wants to get rich quick, and 3) IT news are flooding medias everywhere, many people are being deluded thinking IT is the only way, almost like the human bodies can survive w/o tangible goods. IMHO, when the dust is settled, the focus will move back to tangible industries eventually.

With the current flow of technology, most businesses and professionals as well as ordinary people are trying to keep up. Joining social sites create their online presence. On the other hand, creating you own social sites would add more passive income to your business or if you are a professional, would add more clients to you.
