Can I forward/redirect a sub-domain website, to a .com website? - cnovrup - 06-20-2014 11:24 PM

Hi!
I am going to make a small, simple website for school, and I'm just gonna host it on a sub-domain, but I was wondering if I could redirect a subdomain (ex. website.domain.com), to ex. website.com.
Is that possible?

Note: I am willing to spend some money on it. The reason for not buying a domain, is that it isn't that important, and I think it's to difficult or overdoing it, just for a small website.

Thanks in advance!

Still buying a domain at the end; I am a bit out-of-practise on this but I think direct HTTP forwarding is part of a standard domain option.

You don't have to redirect website.domain.com to website.com.

I assume that you are currently hosting your website in a subdomain in another person's web hosting.

All you need to do is purchase a domain name (e.g. yourname.com) and then in the domain admin area, you can either mask or redirect yourname.com to the location of your website which is website.domain.com.

Do let me know if you need further explanation.

Yes you can easily redirect any of your subdomain to any custom .com domain.

In blogger it is forwarded automatically while in wordpress you have to redirect it using domain/hosting panel.
