Why does everyone make a big deal about hitting women? - 319 - 06-21-2014 03:45 AM

Every damn post on my Facebook is a picture of some girl lifting weights and this and that. Bragging about " how much they can bench and how strong they are?"

I'm pretty sure that they can defend themselves so I don't see the issue here? Why does everyone think women are weak and can't defend themselves ? They can bench 209 pounds but can't take a hit from some overweight redneck? My brother in law weighs like 245 pounds and got out wrestled by his 120 pound wife.

So annoying

Not every woman can do that. There are some who can defend themselves but most women are weak.

its society's view that women are much weaker than men which may be true in many cases. if something is annoying, it doesn't mean its not true. learn to think objectively without your emotions wrecking it all up.

It doesn't matter how much they bench, you can't hit them unless it's consensual sparring.

I only ever hear about it on here, maybe I need to start sending out random friend request to total strangers and stalking their news feeds? And then I can judge them over YA, like a true anonymous e-friend!

It's against the law to hit anyone. Period.

Or maybe people could just refrain from hitting each other.

Because violence sucks. Hitting someone is called assault and it's illegal for a reason.

While I dislike the double standard here, your line of thinking is an example of moving backwards.

We should focus on stigmatizing hitting anyone equally, rather than condoning it.
