Instagram actually doesn't let you see any it the photos that someone else likes unless the picture is in your newsfeed and you click to see who liked hat particular photo.
If it's that big of a deal, or you suspect something more is going on. Talk to him and he should understand if you give evidence to why you're asking. If he doesn't, then well it wasn't meant to be.
