do you have an isp (internet service provider), or are you just piggy-backing on someones wireless?

Have them recheck your phone and area to see if you are able to use that router or not. Sometimes they dont test the site. dial up has problems. Also check your internet connection on your computer to see if it has the right type connection set up.

go to TOOLS on ie and then OPTIONS then to internet CONNECTIONS and highlight your service connection Make sure it is marked to ALWAYS DIAL MY DEFAULT CONNECTION. Then click on settings. Verify AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS. Then click on Advanced and make sure you dont have it set to shut down on either setting. Click ok and go to Properties and Click on Options and make sure IDLE TIME is 'never'. then click ok and ok again til you are back to page that lets you apply then click apply and close everything and that should solve it unless you have some kind of virus or trojan or other serious problem

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz
