I brought something from ebay and the person that is selling me the item is telling me that i need to tell her the transaction number. what is that ?

They are either talking about the auction number, found on the listing itself, or the PayPal transaction number found at PayPal. I have no idea why they would request it unless they are new and have no idea what they are doing. You aren't requesting a refund are you?
