This is getting highly annoying. How does it work exactly, does it count from the time i last login from my phone. or from my laptop. or both? is there way to turn off this last login time option? 2014 facebook.

no you cant turn that off. what you can do is turn chat off and keep sending and receiving messages.

You can turn off chat but then you can't use chat. It know you've been online x amount of time because you were on chat at that moment.
