I use charter internet and my modem + router are separate. Wifi works fine with my computer, however when i connect my cellphone to the wifi network, the modem turns off. How should i fix it?

There is no reason for this to happen. Your phone should not have anything to do with the modem. The modem doesn't even have wireless, does it? Call Charter Support.
