I used to visit uberhumor often, nearly every day, but in the past month or so the lag there has gotten so bad I can barely scroll down the page anymore. Is it the website itself, or has something happened to my computer? And is there any way to fix it?

Not the website but its your computer that has went slow. You may try deleting al the junk files and cookies from your computer. To do so you may just open the Run Window (by holding Win+R). In Run Window type:
%temp%
and hit enter. Whatever you see, just delete it. Open the run window again and type:
temp
and hit enter. Again whatever you see, just delete it. Open the run window again and type:
prefetch
do the same again.
Empty your recycle bin now. Empty you browser cache and try again.
