Router Strengthener for Upstairs? - ebrahim - 06-22-2014 01:08 PM

Okay so I can use my router normally downstairs but upstairs in my room I cant use it cuz signal doesnt reach. What can I do? I do not want to be plugging a USB to my laptop.
I have a Linksys Cisco Router E4200

We purchased one of these extenders for our router and it was terrible, that's just my experience though might be worth a try definitely better than having to use a whole new router isn't it?

Ethernet cable through the ceiling...simples

Run an ethernet cable to the 2nd floor and install a wireless access point. You'll probably want someone professional to do the job.

I have a solution to your problem. All you need to do is, buy another same Linksys router and hook it up on the second floor with the same SSID name (name of your router ex. "Linksys") After that is done, you will be happy with the results. Now you can go up and downstairs and still be connected. Try that and see if that works for you, it did to me. I was so happy.
