Just add them. People pretty much add anyone because they want their friend list to go up so they seem popular. I remember this one girl added everyone! She was once rude to me in class and then a week later, tried adding me. It was so strange. Facebook is a strange place. But once the person most likely adds you, just ask them whats up or like their statuses and comment.
