On my own homepage, I see now there is always a group of people FB suggests I may want to add as a friend. Anyway to stop these people from popping up there? If I want to add someone, I ask that person.

the only option is to X the suggestion out one by one, but every time you add a new friend, you will get new suggestions, because facebook suggests all of your friends' mutual friends to you

The only way to stop it is to click on the X one at a time.
