Internet Connection Sharing or Direct Internet Access? - 413 - 06-23-2014 12:46 AM Hi, what is the difference between ICS and Direct Internet Access? I connected 5 computers to a switch, not a router, and the router in turn is connected to the cable modem. The 5 computers have access to internet very fast and good regardless of turning on or off...whatever. Does that mean that I am using Direct Internet Access? And Internet Connection Sharing does not apply for me?? So with this configuration ICS has nothing to do with me?? - None - 06-23-2014 12:47 AM You are directly connected to the router pretty much. With ICS you use a Windows PC to share out your internet connection instead of the router. ICS has nothing to do with your set up. |
