like, if i post a picture in a group that they aren't in, can they see it on their feed?
i dont run the group , and i dont know how to check if its private...?

No just make sure the group is private
You can check a group is private is by clicking on the group link so the page comes up then where the title or group names is there should be a tiny little lock on the side, if you hoverer that is should say secret

No no, only the group members can see it. Non of your friend who are not in the group are not abled to see those posts.
