So this guy told me to add him from this group on Facebook and then he texted me and now I don't know what to talk about!!

WOW!!!! You don't know how to answer a text? You are the one who received the text; we didn't. So, you know what this text said. You answer it. If he says "Thanks for adding me", you say "You're welcome". Not everything has to turn into a long conversation.
Now, my question to you is: When you say "text", do you mean he texted your phone? Or do you consider Facebook messenger a text?
If he texted your phone, why are you giving strangers your number? Not very smart.
