I've known this guy for a couple months now, I really like him. But We don't talk that often. Because I'm shy as I usually loosen up over text soo thats why I want his number! How do I get it tho w/ o sounding completely weird!

Just ask him. Its a common thing to ask for a phone number these days. I promose he wont say no.
Also if you have facebook, just friend him on there and you can message him through facebook.
