When my friend and I Skype for multiple days in a row, they say their internet goes slow for a few days after we stop calling. Shouldn't the internet only become slower when the user is actively using it? And shouldn't it return back to normal after you stop using it? (The other person uses Wifi)

No it should not slow down but it depends on what broadband package your on because if your on unlimited broadband it should not slow down the connection okay.
