Are there any ways to promote better sleep? - Dorothy - freak magnet - 06-24-2014 12:42 PM I do fall asleep reasonably easily but then awaken within the hour and then every hour or so after that. Thanks for the great tips. I do usually sleep with a night light ...especially in a strange place. Proven to disrupt the sleep functions. keep a Dark room keep a Cool room, drink a 8 oz of water (nothing else) 1 hour b4 sleep. use ear plugs. any night light equipment turn away from u or cover with tape. turn OFF phones - no really. your brain does get addicted to it being on. will wake u to check on it. Get a set time to sleep. with in a 30 minute window +or - 15min. - sabrina - 06-24-2014 01:09 PM *Don't eat heavy meals right before sleep. * Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol. * Cut out all sourcesof of sound and light as you may be sensitive to either or both. * Apparently drinking cherry juice is good for making you feel sleepy. * Listening to white noise if anxiety or negative thoughts are keeping you up. You can download it or get an app for it or simply listen to a radio station with no signal. * Listen to relaxation tapes. * Curl your toes, hold for a few seconds and release.
