I'm trying to play Rust and every time I tried to join a server it said "facepunch connector AuthFailure", so I went and restarted Steam because I thought that might help but after restarting Steam, it won't let me be in the online mode. I can only do Offline Steam. I'm still able to connect to the internet though so I don't know why it won't let me connect to Steam. If anyone has encountered this problem and has found a solution or if someone just has a suggestion, that would be greatly appreciated. I will most definitely choose a best answer if I can get the problem resolved. All answers are appreciated!

The Steam servers are currently down (don't know why).
Rust requires a connection to steam and thus if the steam servers are down you cannot connect to rust.
