Does anyone have any tips for getting more followers on Facebook? - simon - 11-09-2012 08:53 AM

Hi all,

I'm trying to get more people to join my artist Facebook page and wondered if anyone has any tips or tricks to achieve this without having to add random strangers myself or purchase Facebook Ad's.

My page is http://www.facebook.com/OSZillustration

Thanks!
@Dominic, Google my work before you make comments. @Paul, Cheers, good idea with the panel :-)

Become a popular artist.

It might take a while.

Edit:
Are you this guy?

He seems pretty famous so that must be you.

Anywho, your stuff's really colorful. I think it would work great in children's story books but I'm surprised that you don't haven't done anything like that yet.

Honestly, facebook isn't the best medium to get your stuff out there.

Really, If it's not funny, or interesting as a tiny bite-sized chunk of information ( a funny sentence ) it won't permeate facebook well. At the end of the day, it is a social networking site, art tends to take a back-seat. I would suggest using a dedicated forum for this stuff like deviant art.

But if you're really determined to stick it out with facebook, I notice a lot of your stuff is based on distinctive characters. You could try making one of those.... I don't know what they're called, it's like panels with pictures, where you're supposed to tag the friend that each one most reminds you of?

Make one of those with different characters and put your name/banner/link across the bottom. Could work?

Hi here's a couple of ideas:

1. Try promoting your Facebook Page through Twitter if you already have a Twitter account (or if not, I would create one anyway, it might be useful later).

2. Another might be to create a HTML Welcome page on you Fan Page so that new visitors are greeted with something static and professional rather than a Facebook wall.
You just need to install Facebook's FBML application to your page (though you will need some knowledge of HTML or a good editor to make it look good.

Help this helps

Try this out, you can get 'Likes' from people with similar interests and it costs nothing
