My newbie freind made a FB group and appointed a stranger as adm-- then he kicked us out as admn and took over the group? Did we get hacked?

Any admin can remove other admins, so no you didn't get hacked, it's perfectly legal. It's your friend's fault though to make a stranger an admin.
