Does facebook sniff users browsing habits and facebook conversations to show apropriate ads? - digitaleprofeter@rocketmail.com - 11-09-2012 09:26 AM

Or does it only use simple profile information like sex, age and marital status to target the ads? Feel free to share your own experiences but if you have any reliable sources that would be even better.

Unfortunately I don't have the link anymore that I found that proved how the ads pop-up on your facebook. I believe it said it just uses keywords and uses it's own search to make it convenient for the user to get information. I don't pay attention to it. A lot of times if you say (mostly guys) that you are looking for a relationship on your profile then it will use an automated search and post some ads on dating sites and somehow they use other facebook user pictures which is weird (Try having your sister as an ad link... Awkward). Get it?
