Is Lady Gaga's break helping her career? - Ernie Belmonte - 11-09-2012 09:27 AM

It's pretty common knowledge that Lady Gaga was everywhere during 2009, 2010 and 2011. This obviously led to overexposure, and as a result, some radio stations stopped playing her music as much (AMP Radio) because they felt that she was overexposed. Since New Years Day, Lady Gaga has kept a low profile. In her nearly 4 month break, Gaga has been busy planning her upcoming, so far sold out, world tour, recording her new album, and shooting her perfume commercial with Stephen Klien. Recently, Gaga's singles + albums have been rising on iTunes steadily over the past few weeks, her AI on radio has been increasing compared to what it was in December, and she is gaining followers on Twitter and fans on Facebook faster than she was during the last quarter of 2011. So, is this because of Gaga's break, or is it pure coinsidence? Is Gaga's well earned break from the spotlight helping her career?

Well you said it yourself she was everywhere in 2009, 2010, and 2011. A lot of artists are taking breaks from time to time and the fact that she is already sold out on a concert that has not even started touring is proof that break or not she is still popular and will always be famous and popular. Sure she has kept a lot profile but a lot of celebrities do this just to take a break from the spotlight and even in then they still manage to keep up with fame.

The fact that her sales have gone up is nothing but a coincidence to me. Even if she had not taken a break I am sure she would have gotten a ton more sales just because people love her music. I will say her born this way CD did not sell as well as her 2 other albums did and I am guessing the reference to LGBT has something to do with that but I cannot for sure say but either way she is still famous and popular and I can assure you she will always be popular. Hope that answers your question.

Yes it is. She has reveled in a recent interview that the door has opened for her next album, and she has started writing it. I expect her to be back to her normal Gaga when the tour starts, she just needs to rest and she is probably really tired from traveling the world promoting her newest album "Born This Way". Her new album should drop this year.
