When I type in my name on google, it will show my facebook profile link, and I don't want it to. 'Enable Public Search' is off. Is there any way to stop google showing my facebook profile?

it's a facebook setting, nothing to do with google.
in any case, if someone clicks the google link you describe above, the link wont work so it really makes no odds

Once you decided to create the link, all hope was lost.
The link has been indexed and now resides in googles servers. The only ones actually capable of removing the link are facebook alone. Since the link resides in their website, you cannot ask google to remove the link, unless you own the domain rights. Since your not Mark Zuckerberg or the IT admin incharge of facebook network there isn't anything you can do.
The only shred of hope is if you contact facebook help, and ask them to file a remove search request with google. There is more chance of you winning an aliens lottery, and we have not discovered any alien races yet.
