who is sponsoring facebook? - scence_247 - 11-09-2012 09:28 AM

for as long as i've been on facebook, i've never seen very many ads on facebook. and now with the new movie coming out called "The Social Network" i'm curious to know how websites in general get launched. now adays in order to get a domain you have to pay for it. but facebook seems to be the only exception.

Are you kidding? Look at the side of your Facebook window and you'll see at least three ads. With millions upon millions of users viewing these each day, that generates some pretty solid revenue.

FYI, The Social Network was not made for Facebook in anyway, it's just a subject in the movie.

Facebook can make money not only on straightforward ads, but also on apps and games. Let's say you just created the game Mafia II. You want people to hear about it right? So you pay Facebook to add a mini game called Mafia Wars to get Facebook users interested. They're like secret ads that play with your mind

Have you noticed the small ads in Facebook? These are paying ads. Google adwords is paying FB as well. When you click on the smalls in FB, FB earns a royalty from Google.
