The best way to get followers is to basically search for users that share the same interests as you do. Once you have a list you can start following them and between 30 & 60 percent will follow you back. I use software from <a href="http://www.tweetwhistle.com">http://www.tweetwhistle.com</a> to do this. You can do it manually but spend a few bucks and let the software do it for you...It's faster and easier.
Another thing to note is once you reach 2000 followers you can only follow 10% more then the number following you but not to worry the software I mentioned above allows you to unfollow any number of people so you can start the entire process over again.
