I just opened my account a few days ago, but dang....everyone is missing out on all of my tweets

There is no simple way in getting followers. Write interesting stuff and give people a reason to follow you. I also suggest you joining a twitter exchange website, this will not spam anything, you just make an account and start following some people just like you, in exchange following them other people will follow you.
Its an even exchange and damn good one if you ask me, instead of wasting time on following random folks in the hope some will follow back.
