Okay obviously this is retarded to ask I've been using facebook for years. But, on the side of the New Facebook, it shows like ten random friends. I'm curious, are those just randomly chosen? Or are they last ones to view your profile, or you were the last one to visit theirs? I have no idea.

It's all randomized everytime you log in.

It's a list of some random chosen, online friends. Click on them and a chat-tab will appear.
